The London Design Festival is a visually stimulating event that will make you feel like you hoped on a time machine and travelled 100 years ahead, with spectacular displays of avant-garde designs and technological wonders such as a Wikihouse, the world’s first open source, digitally-printed house.
During this week of show-stopping creativity, the city is divided into six Design Districts with different activities happening in each location, including the acclaimed Victoria & Albert Museum. This London institution presents a stunning installation by designers Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby, which is composed of two giant moving sculptures.
Among other highlights of the 2014 festival is also the A Place Called Home installation. This features individual “homes” erected in Trafalgar Square, where designers are given a room to showcase individuality in interior design. Not far from this, fifteen windows along Regent Street will feature special installations as part of the RIBA Regent Street Windows Project.
Despite being young (only 11 years old), this festival is considered to be one of the most important design events in the world, reuniting hundreds of partner organisations from all over the world to showcase their creations.
The London Design Festival will take place the 13th-21st of September and what better to complete this exciting event than staying in a Silver Award winning hotel The Caesar, combining comfort, design and art. All, in one place. The Caesar Hotel offers you great hospitality packages, so you can enjoy your London break and relax, while discovering Spanish cuisine in the XO restaurant or indulge in a refreshing cocktail in the XO Bar after an exciting day at the Design Festival.
