Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, as Marilyn said. A good gem is still one of the accessories more fancied by women and one of the most appreciated jewels. In Barcelona we will be able to see the latest trends in this sector during the week of the 12th to the 15th of October for the Barcelona Contemporary Jewellery Week. A meeting point for first-line firms, schools and young designers who come together to present their new collections and publicize their talent.
In this second edition, to be held at the FAD, three different events are organized: Jewelry – Contemporary Jewellery Week, Espaijoia Jewelry Mediterranean Meeting and Shopping Day Barcelona. The goal is to provide the audience, both amateur and professional brands and artists, a chance to meet and interact showing a broad perspective on the world of jewelry. Spaces assigned for admiration, debate, interaction as well as shopping.
And if you can’t wait until October remember that at the Bagués Hotel, the venue which has hosted the presentation of this initiative, you can visit a permanent exhibition of the artist Lluís Masriera (1872-1958) dedicated to modernist jewelry. According to Pilar Vélez, the curator of the exhibition: an indispensable showing of the recounting of the history of Catalan Modernism.
