Pour les vacances de la Toussaint, un incontournable à Paris : l’exposition Picasso.Mania au Grand Palais inaugurée ce mois-ci et qui se prolonge jusqu’en février 2016. Cette rétrospective montre des œuvres de l’artiste associées à des œuvres de peinture, de sculpture, de photographie ou de vidéo, de grands maîtres de l’art contemporain qu’il a inspirés. Parmi ceux qui lui ont rendu hommage, on retrouve entre autres David Hockney, Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons, Roy Lichtenstein, Jean-Michel Basquiat, ou encore Jean-Luc Godart.
Le parcours de l’artiste est retracé à travers une centaine d’œuvres, depuis les années 1960. Certaines sont emblématiques comme Les Demoiselles d’Avignon et Guernica, et d’autres n’ont jamais été montrées au public. Cette exposition permet de voir l’influence qu’il a eu jusqu’au mythe qu’il est devenu.
For the French Autumn Holidays, a major event in Paris : the “Picasso.Mania” exhibition at the Grand-Palais, inaugurated this month and which will last until February 2016. This retrospective shows the artist’s works facing works of painting, sculpture, photography, or videos, done by great masters of contemporary art he has inspired. Among those who paid him tribute, we find among others David Hockney, Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons, Roy Lichtenstein, Jean-Michel Basquiat, or nor Jean-Luc Godart.
The artist’s career is traced through a hundred works since the 1960’s. Some are iconic as Les Demoiselles d’Avignon and Guernica, and others have never been shown to the public. This exhibition allows to see the influence he had until the myth he became.
